Oh, bedtime. The most dreaded part of my day. When you have a child that pretty much refuses to sleep in his crib or only falls asleep while being cuddled, bedtime can turn into a 2 - 3 hour ordeal. IF we manage to get him in his crib successfully, he’s usually up 3 or 4 times a night and usually…
I have to discuss this with my husband.
I would really like to try this with Avery. My friend does it with her daughter and got great results. Obviously, not every kid is the same, but I do want to try it. She had a crib mattress on the side of their bed and another one in her room for naps. You can also make a border from a fun noodle under the sheet so they don’t roll off.
we have a montessori floor bed for Auggie and it’s rad. when he wakes up in the middle of the night, i just go in, lay down beside him and nurse him back to sleep.
there’s no need to transition him back into a crib, fearing he might wake up in the process, because he’s already there. and i can half sleep while he nurses, which makes me a much happier mama in the morning.
on occasion, he won’t want to go back to sleep and then i just scoop him up and take him back into bed with us, but it’s becoming less of a regular thing as he’s waking less through the night (yaaaaaaaay! and waaaaaah!).

father’s day brekkie: salmon, dill & chevre quiche, bubbles and the best husband i could wish for.
4For Father’s Day, I bought Matthew a proper shaving kit:
A simple and classic safety razor, badger brush and lemon shave oil, cream and aftershave.
I hope he likes it - his skin is super sensitive and everything I’ve read says that a safety razor shave is the cleanest and most gentle shave that you can get (after a straight razor shave, but i think he’d be too nervous to use one). Plus, the shave lasts longer than one with just a plain old 4-blade razor (and it looks classy, too!).
I’m making a salmon, dill and chevre quiche for breakfast (with homemade pie crust that I prepped tonight… fingers crossed it turns out okay, since i’ve never made it before), paired with some yummy bubbles, and then we’ll be heading out to meet up with our friends and watch the Thorns in a match against the Seattle Reign.
Hopefully the sun will be out so we can take a stroll through the park after the game!

you are not supposed to pull back the foreskin at all (it WILL separate on its own) and your pediatrician, of all people, should know that.
get a new one, asap. on top of everything else, it sounds like she doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing.

auggie slept from 9pm to 7am last night.
and he only woke up once.
at 4:30 - 3 hours later than he usually does.
and i think that was only because i woke up to go to the bathroom, got nervous that he hadn’t woken up yet, went in to check on him and woke him out of half sleep.
